What's in Your Waste - Where to put it! |

Holiday time of year brings lots of varities of waste. Let's all try to control our household waste by doing a few simple things:
- Cleaning out the closets - share the cloths/treasures with others
- Use Newspaper or Newspaper Ads to wrap the gifts you give.
- Compost food Waste learn how to build a compost pile click here to start
- Christmas Trees - bring them to Hudak Farm in Swanton

- STARTING Dec 10th - St.Albans City Drop off Site will accept Food Waste for Composting.

Recycling Tips - What's included and What's Not:
- PAPER - NEWSPAPER - CARDBOARD - PLASTICS - METALS - GLASS
- Keep Paper with Paper
- Keep food waste in its place - Compost pile
- No Bio-Hazards such as Tissue Paper or Paper Towels
- No Gift Bags / Gift Wrap they are typically made of two thin layer of paper and plastic glued together
- No Plastic Bags / Plastic Windows from mail or packaging boxes such as toy boxes with viewing window
- Rip into seperate materials - recycling what you can and toss the remains
- Clean and Rinse containers such as peanut butter or mayo containers
- Double check what you purchase / If the packaging is not readily recyclable - seek alternatives
- Be pro-active Recycling is more cost effective then putting things in the throw away pile
